But Wait… There’s More ILTACON 2015 Wednesday night edition

Word on the Promenade:
Today, five speakers at “Spark Talks” kicked things off with a playlist of dance party songs to rouse everyone for a morning session. The speakers continued with engaging and unique stories on creating a positive and forward thinking impact in their organizations. One speaker, Jack Thompson of UPS, thanked law firms for helping corporate law departments maintain their core values. He encouraged law firms to continue to improve their value and collaborate and communicate with law departments. This will keep both organizations “one their toes.”

I heard especially good things about the “Deploying and Supporting Microsoft Surface Devices” session. It provided substantial amounts of practical insight into deploying and responding to issues that arise with Microsoft Surface.

Many people attending this morning’s workshop on multi-tasking learned applicable advice on managing their time; they also learned how to juggle. Other buzzworthy sessions included “Fail Forward,” “The Service Desk of Tomorrow,” “Onshoring Back-Office Operations,” “Legal Technology Innovation: Bolstering AND Destroying the Legal Profession,” and “The Rise of the Machine: Threat, Opportunity or Science Fiction.”

What Makes ILTACON Great?
In short, the ILTA membership makes ILTACON great. Specifically, a dedicated team of ILTA volunteers and staff started planning ILTACON 2015 last year. They were still working to make this conference great this afternoon. Did you know that each afternoon of the conference the planning committee of 40 plus volunteers gathers in the ILTA Office to discuss what is going well and what needs improvement with the conference? That’s dedication! If you want to join the ranks of dynamic thought leaders who shape ILTACON, consider the open volunteer opportunity or ask about volunteering at the Member Registration desk.

Quick Reminders:
By tomorrow evening all wagers will have been placed and you will all be winners. It was another great ILTACON. To celebrate, join your peers at 6:30 p.m. in the Palace Ballroom one last time for Game On, ILTACON!

After you have caught up on email and gotten back to the regular routine, remember many of the educational session recordings will be available on ILTA’s Connected Community Recordings under Events.

If you don’t plan to take home all of your bags, lanyards, notebooks, etc. please consider donating them. All donated items can be placed in the yellow school bus at the Member Registration desk.

Beyond ILTACON, your ILTA volunteers and staff are working year-round to provide quality point-of-need educational opportunities for you and your colleagues. Be sure to stay involved throughout the year and I’ll see you again at ILTACON 2016 at the Gaylord National near Washington, D.C.
