Microsoft Lync 2013 is the seventh version of Microsoft's unified communications platform, and the third version of the platform to include Enterprise Voice features. As the platform matures, Lync has become a serious contender as a traditional phone system replacement.
Join us as we discuss the current state of telephony in law firms and how Lync can address the unique needs and challenges often found in law firms. We will explore how Lync can integrate with, augment and/or replace an existing phone system, and showcase a variety of phones, headsets and other devices to demonstrate the user experience in an environment leveraging Lync as a phone system enhancement or replacement. Finally, we will discuss how Lync can help a law firm move from their current isolated telephony system to a modern unified communications solution including instant messaging, presence, video conferencing, screen sharing, document collaboration and Enterprise Voice functionality, as well as how to deal with changing the most visible and historically used pieces of technology on an attorney's desk.

Anne Shackleford is an Account Executive at Kraft & Kennedy, Inc. Her focus is on expanding the firm's client base on the west coast and serving current clients in the western United States. Working with a team of engineers, Anne provides her clients with innovative & customized technology solutions. With over 20 years of experience in law firm operations & legal service sales, she offers strategic guidance to firms in areas such as infrastructure design, business continuity/disaster recovery, systems consolidation and IT organization. Joe Hoegler, a Practice Leader at Kraft & Kennedy, Inc., leads the company's Infrastructure and Enterprise Systems practice group and is responsible for messaging systems and unified communications, directory services, server virtualization, storage area networking, network infrastructure, high availability and disaster recovery, and data center design. He has led or advised on over 70 projects on Exchange 2010/2013 for law firm clients, and is a Microsoft Certified Master on Exchange 2010. Joe has also presented at numerous industry conferences.
