Bernardo van der Laat has extensive experience on M&A and is the Managing Director of PredictaBill a legal services firm which aims to plug the Costa Rican legal sector to the growing and dynamic market of the Alternative Legal Services Providers. He has an LLM from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago.
He currently advises national and foreign corporations from a wide range of industries including real estate, retail, finance, among others, with their day to day matters.
Bernardo is very active on pro bono Initiatives. He co-founded “La Esquina” a social venture that fights against social exclusion and fosters the personal growth of the young members of communities under high social risk like La Carpio, Leon XII, Hatillo and Los Guido. He is a member of Poder Ciudadano ¡Ya!, nonpartisan initiative that aims to change the model for electing the members of the parliament and the Costa Rican Association for Electric Mobility (“Asomove”). Bernardo also integrates the “Millennials Committee” of Crusa (Foundation for promoting the cooperation between Costa Rica and USA) which provides strategic support to the board.
