PURPOSE:
The Program Planning Council Co-Chair assists the current Co-Chair with overseeing the Program Planning Council volunteer group tasked with developing an overarching programming framework that serves all sectors of ILTA’s membership.
ROLE:
The Program Planning Council Co-Chair is an appointed member of the Program Planning Council. The incoming Co-Chair works closely with the current Co-Chair to complete delegated tasks and liaise with the Board, staff, and Program Planning Council members to set goals, ensure priorities are being met, problem-solve, and set agendas.
TERM:
First Year (as incoming Co-Chair); August 1 – July 31
Second Year (as returning Co-Chair); August 1 – July 31

The team will be supported by the VP of Education and the Program Manager, Education and Content, as their ILTA staff liaisons.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the other Co-Chair to support the Program Planning Council and to complete associated tasks
- Attends all Program Planning Council calls and in-person meetings
- Attends a monthly call of both Co-Chairs and the staff liaison to the Program Planning Council
- Removes obstacles to achieve Program Planning Council’s annual goals and sets priorities
- Analyzes and reports on metrics
- Actively participates in Program Planning Council meetings, calls, and with other ILTA teams as necessary
- Helps develop the Programming Framework for the year
- Helps to execute ILTA's strategic goal of increasing member engagement through consistent programming across all ILTA deliverables
- Participates in interviews and selection of other Program Planning Council members
- Coaches and mentors ILTA Program Planning Council members
- Exhibits a positive communication style in person, on the phone, and through email messages with Council members and other volunteer leaders and staff
- Abide by ILTA's Conflict of Interest Policy
DUTIES:
- Co-lead monthly one-hour conference calls
- Liaise with staff and volunteer groups to execute designated deliverables
- Participate in team discussions via Slack channels and email
- Serve as an ambassador for ILTA

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICE:
Objective Criteria:
- ILTA member
- At least two years’ experience working in legal technology
- Experience as a speaker, author, or regular e-group contributor (or other volunteer experience within ILTA or similar professional organization)
- Experience as a member of the Program Planning Council
- Willingness to accept direction from the volunteer leadership and ILTA staff as required
- Willingness at all times to act as a reflection of ILTA’s core values

COMPENSATION:
ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
