Description:

PURPOSE:
The Europe Programming Committee (EPC) is comprised of strategic thought leaders who collaborate to identify topics, programs, and initiatives to best serve the UK and European membership and to build the ILTA community. The EPC reports to the Education Council.  

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The member’s role is to advise on the development of educational sessions throughout the year as well as ILTA’s annual ILTACON Europe conference, and includes:
•    acting as an ambassador within their organisations and their networks
•    representing ILTA at events
•    and supporting the volunteer leadership and staff to meet the goal of delivering premier educational and networking opportunities to the legal sector

TERM:
Two-year terms renewable for up to three consecutive terms; renewable subject to selection process. 1 October to 30 September

DUTIES:
•    Attend a bi-monthly online EPC meeting (note: there may be one-in-person meeting a year)
•    Attend a monthly online Education Council meeting (The Education Council plays an essential role in ensuring all ILTA programming, networking and events are aligned with the overarching programming framework for the year)
•    Attend the annual volunteer weekend in the US (usually October time frame) to join the Education Council in discussing the ILTA programming for the following year (costs covered by ILTA)
•    Provide input on educational content, networking events and ILTACON Europe 
•    Represent ILTA at local events
•    Act as ambassador for ILTA within their organisations and networks
•    Offer the UK and European perspective to the Education Council when discussing ILTA programming
•    Liaise with staff and volunteer groups to execute deliverables
•    Participate in team discussions via Slack/MS Teams channels and email


QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICE

Minimum Criteria:
•    Active ILTA member, business partner or industry participant based in UK and Europe
•    Completion of the ILTA Conflict of Interest Form
•    At least two years’ experience working in legal technology
•    Experience as a speaker, author, or regular e-group contributor (or other volunteer experience within ILTA or similar professional organization)
•    Ability to accept direction from the volunteer leadership and ILTA staff as required
•    Ability at all times to act as a champion/role model of ILTA’s core values

COMPENSATION:  
ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
