eedback is a gift and, when done well, benefits both the giver and the recipient. ILTA is committed to incorporating this important leadership skill into the volunteer experience in a more meaningful and impactful way.
Once again, volunteers are raising the bar in terms of the programming developed for our members. The content teams made great progress on their programming plans for 2019 with concrete plans and deliverables identified for Q2 and a robust inventory of topics identified for the second half of the year.
In addition to planning 2019 programming, the volunteer leaders put serious thought and energy into making meaningful connections among teams and across platforms including enhancing the cross-pollination of ideas across content teams, conference planning teams, publications and local programming efforts, as well as expanding the “I” in ILTA with ideas focused on building individual participation outside of the U.S.
The only constant is change. The businesses that survive and thrive are those that lead change. In some ways, traditional legal training makes lawyers “error averse” which can manifest itself as an intense resistance to change. Legal technology professionals are in a unique position to help their organizations, and their lawyers, navigate these waters by making technology, data and process more accessible, tangible and relevant.
In all, the powerful combination of volunteers and professional staff that came together in Orlando contributed in both big and small ways toward supporting our overall strategic goals of improving access to information, delivering relevant information, making meaningful connections, expanding the diversity of our membership and deploying the resources needed to accomplish all of this.
