PURPOSE:
The Local Experience Leadership Committee is responsible for overseeing and supporting the Team Coordinators (TCs) and Member Liaisons (MLs) who organize and facilitate local meetings and events. This committee ensures that TCs and MLs have the resources, guidance, and training necessary to successfully plan and execute engaging local experiences for ILTA members.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Local Experience Leadership Committee Co-Chair’s role is to:
- Serve as a resource and advocate for TCs and MLs, offering guidance and assistance as needed
- Work with Local Experience Co-chairs to create and implement strategic initiatives for the local experience program
- Advise TCs and MLs on best practices and resolve challenges related to local experiences
- Track TC and ML activities and assess success using established performance metrics
- Evaluate impact and effectiveness of TC and ML initiatives
- Review reports submitted by TCs and MLs to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement
- Work with Local Experience Operations committee to review, update, and manage resources such as meeting toolkits, governance policies and other documentation
- Work with Business Partner Liaisons on guidelines and procedures for business partner sponsorship engagement
- Identify and implement ways to acknowledge and celebrate outstanding contributions from TCs and MLs
- Work with ILTA staff to secure sponsorships for local experiences and business partner engagements
TERM:
· Two-year, renewable for up to three consecutive terms; subject to selection process
· Staggered, where possible
· Can reapply after two years of non-service
DUTIES:
- Participate actively in the Local Experience Council, collaborating with other committee members
- Prepare for and lead meetings of the Local Experience Leadership Committee
- Oversee the TCs, ensuring successful local meetings are occurring regularly
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICE:
Minimum Criteria:
· Active ILTA member, business partner or industry participant
· Submit a completed ILTA Conflict of Interest Form
· Ability to lead a team and work within a team environment
· Volunteer experience, either within ILTA or similar professional organization
· Ability to accept direction from the volunteer leadership and ILTA staff as required
· Consistently demonstrate and uphold ILTA’s core values in all actions and interactions
Preferred Skills:
· Project management experience, especially documentation of structures and processes
· Effective interpersonal communication
· Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
· Ability to respond to shifting priorities
COMPENSATION:
ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
